Photon 2, the shell first
A torque mid-drive at $950. The published motor is 3.5 kg, 135 Nm, peak 2,000 W. The pack is a separate decision.
CYC rates Photon 2 at 250 W and at 750 W, with a 2,000 W peak and 135 Nm. The battery is not in the $950. Any complete price that hides a pack is a different sum from the one on the kit page.
The shell card is BSA from 68 mm out to 120 mm, and BB92. That is wider than a BBS02’s 68 mm line. A press-fit frame that is not BB92 is not quietly included.
Because it is torque sensing, the first rides are about the ramp and the chainline, not about a cadence magnet. The workshop still sets the wheel size in the controller or the speed reading is ornamental.
The Great Britain check can see a 250 W continuous rating. It cannot see a 2,000 W peak and call that the same thing. Buy the controller whose continuous rating you intend to live with.
