Official GOV.UK guidance for Great Britain distinguishes maximum continuous rated power from other power claims. An electrically assisted pedal cycle keeps pedals that can propel the bike, a maximum continuous rated power of 250 W, and motor assistance that cuts off at 15.5 mph.

Peak watt claims are not the continuous rating. A configuration can be within 250 W continuous and still be conditional because of a throttle, a missing cut-off figure, or a mechanical problem that has nothing to do with the law.

This is a plain-language summary of public guidance, not legal advice, and not a statement about your bicycle. Read the official pages linked from Regulations. Other countries are not guessed from the GB rules.

Shops are named on the configuration. Specification research is not labelled as a hands-on test.
